Spirit Abilities
*Hearing the Hurt - Being a Spirit of Compassion, Cole uncontrollably feels the pain in places and people. He can remember things from other people's lives, even things like the last emotions of people who have died horrible deaths. He doesn't do this intentionally, it simply happens - and it isn't mind reading. He can only 'hear' things that cause a person hurt or discomfort, usually things they need to confront.
*Not Very Memorable - Cole has a way of not sticking in the minds of most people he meets. This is a skill he's learned to control over time, and he can actively make someone forget they've seen him, even in the middle of a conversation so that he can try a different line of conversation if his social skills fail him. Naturally, the general population gradually forget his face and name when he is out of their sight for a while, but those he chooses to interact more with can hold on to his memory without much issue.
*You Can't See Me - At will, Cole can simply not appear to people. Sometimes it's force of habit, sometimes more purposeful, but when he disappears like this, his presence simply doesn't register to the person he is hiding it from. He can walk right up to them, even brush past them, and he simply can't be perceived. There is a measure of at least some focus involved with this, however, and if caught off-guard or unconscious, he cannot disappear. Magic that dispels the abilities of spirits can also negate this power.
SO - my questions for you!
Can Cole read your character?
If Cole reads your character's pain, what will he find? Anything in particular you want him to zero in on? (Feel free to be esoteric, too! What sights, sounds, smells, tastes?)
Is there anything you DO NOT want Cole to mention? (CWs and such)
Can Cole make your character forget him?
Can Cole make your character not see him?
Anything else you want me to know?

[DEEP BREATH]
Astarion's lost more of his living past than his unlife as a baseline. There are glimpses of good memories: the home in Baldur's Gate he used to live in before he was bitten, very warm and probably etched in sunlight, gilded and expensive. The feeling of natural heat beneath his skin. He can't remember his face, his eyecolor, or what he used to look like. It's a gap in his memory.
Aside from that, boy howdy, big content warnings here, please do avoid if necessary, this is all that there is from canon in its totality: Astarion was attacked by a group of humans and beaten to the literal brink of death over a ruling he'd passed out as a Magistrate. Cazador (dark hair, pale skin, red eyes, think BG3's beat for beat rip off of Castlevania's Dracula in terms of looks) a vampire lord, chased away Astarion's assailants and offered to save him. V romantique.
Looking back, all Astarion associates with that night is betrayal and lies and the terrible scent of blood.
Afterwards Astarion was relegated to existing as a living puppet, not in control of his own body, forced to remain at Cazador's side except for the nights where he was sent out into the city dressed in finery to seduce and lure unwitting souls back to his master's table. When Cazador asked Astarion if he wanted to dine with him, if Astarion said yes, he was forced to feed off of dead, rotting rats. If he said no, he was flayed alive and tortured for sport. In the day to day, he and the other slaves would be forced to willingly submit to torture, or torture one another. In two hundred years, all he ate were rats and flies, left in a constant state of starvation.
Astarion's back is also painted with scars, a remnant from one particular night where Cazador cut into his back with a razor over and over again, frustrated that Astarion's screams were ruining his work.
It's left him paranoid and mistrustful, particularly of concepts like hope or kindness. Doubly so for heroics, since 'in two hundred years, no one ever came to rescue him'. I go into all this just so that you can feel comfortable twisting it or using it/describing any of the above however you like.
Smells are generally the overwhelming scent of blood, iron, decay, death, rotting fur, chilled mildew and lightless mold.
The game's sensory visions describe most exchanges as the sensation of a hand on his jaw or neck, forcing him to act/feed, or red eyes in the dark.
Is there anything you DO NOT want Cole to mention? (CWs and such) NA for me, Astarion will, however, bristle at all of it for the above reasons regarding pity and sorrow
Can Cole make your character forget him? yes
Can Cole make your character not see him? yes
Anything else you want me to know? Love that funky lil ghost boy
